Barbara Steele, M.D., F.A.A.P.
Dr. Steele joins Children's Medicine of Alpharetta after working 15 years at another pediatric practice in the Roswell area. She graduated from the University of Virginia before entering Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. She then completed her residency at Emory University in 1991. Dr. Steele is Board Certified in Pediatrics and is a member of both the American and Georgia Academy of Pediatrics. She is also a board member and past chair of Physician's Alliance. She is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and is a huge sports fan especially when it comes to her Pittsburgh and UVA teams. Her other hobbies include reading, cooking, traveling, golfing, and taking care of her beloved miniature schnauzer "Max".Liz Esparolini, R.N.
Liz Esparolini brings 32 years of nursing experience to Children’s Medicine of Alpharetta. A native of Virginia, her clinical experience includes pediatric care and newborn / intensive care, while she specializes in helping new mothers with breastfeeding and care of newborns. Prior to joining Children’s Medicine of Alpharetta, Liz served as the Nurse Manager at a large pediatric practice. Liz sings in her church choir, plays guitar, loves her pet Schnauzers and enjoys being outside working in the garden. Liz is married and has two daughters and two grandchildren.Bertina Shaver, M.A.
Bertina joined Children's Medicine of Alpharetta in February of 2009. She received her certification from Everest Institute in 2005 and is continuing her education at Gwinnett Technical College to become a registered nurse. Prior to that, she worked at Children's Neurology Associates. Bertina is the mother of two beautiful daughters aged 3 and 2 weeks. When she is not spending time with her children and family, she enjoys scrapbooking and dancing.
